It does a heart good :)
In case you didn’t see this article, I truly couldn’t agree more. For quite some time I’ve wondered how Fox (and it’s various gasoline-slinging talking-heads) have managed to avoid charges of gross negligence, fraud, or any number of other charges that could stem from their blatantly false and deceitful “reporting”. Now the Obama administration has taken action and the wingnuts are pissed. Boo-freakin-hoo.
Would anybody bat an eye at “The Weekend Update” from SNL being kept out of press briefings? Or The Daily Show? I doubt it, because these organizations are not media. They pretend to be media, often making fun of the media, but they don’t present all facts in a responsible, professional manner.
Neither does Fox News.
So the president has called them to task. Not because they’re Nancy Naysayer, but because they’re a wolf is sheep’s clothing: posing as news when they’re really just a vehicle for a specific political agenda.
And it’s even more treacherous than that. Not only do they promote a specific political ideology through biased reporting, omission of facts and flat-out lying, but they then deny it!
There is a reason why the founding fathers chose to specifically mention the requirement for the press to maintain their freedom - free information is the basis for democracy. When those charged with the responsibility of being the bastions of that free information pervert their responsibility into an opportunity for punditry, why should they be treated any different than a comedy program?
If you want to know the truth about Limbaugh’s claims regarding the “internet scum”, get it from the horse’s mouth.
Freakin’ hilarious!
“While you were doing your research did you also find that sharks live in water and don’t deliver candy grams… and that the majority of boxes do not have d*cks in them?” Stewart asked.
